theres this dog that lives in the apartment next to me and always barks (it a little chihuahua) weve called management several times and they were like "well we can not hear any dog" and it wont be silent. im not exaggerate i cannot get sleep, he barks in the night. I was woken up at 2:30 last night by her. should call the police station and file a public nuisance complaint? Can I do this? What should I do? thank you to all my course of action will be slipping an anonymous letter under their EM welcome mat (im not really the kind of confrontation) basically says yo, you ima rats services to sick animals call them if you do not close this dog soon. Thank you! : D now to choose the best answer … wont be easy
Fortunately, there are few options you. The first course is to send an anonymous letter to the owners threatening to call animal services on them if they do are not something to control the dogs barking. If this does not work, do you have other neighbors that you know are sick of this dog barking? them all sign a petition to the management and write letters to complain. Another option is to call animal services on the dog. According my experience with them, they usually take dogs barking seriously enough and be the next day with a bulletin warning owners to keep their dogs quiet. If the owners fail to do something about noise and you call a second time the service animal will the dog to the shelter, the detriment of owners. I would not feel guilty about it, if you hesitate, there are countless methods keep a dog quiet. The number one remedy is attention. A good long walk every day with some TLC will make any dog a good neighbor, and if supplimenting it with discipline or bark collar. Since they failed to do any of these it is likely that the dog is neglected anyway, so a new home is probably necessary. Finally, if none of these options interest you, and you are comfortable then. You can always contact the owner you tell them your discomfort and offer your help to keep the dog quiet.
