Dog Barking Doorbell

Dog barking doorbell?

I have a yellow labrador who is about 7 or 8 years. It is actually a very good dog. It is low energy and obedient. She does not jump on strangers, never leaves the yard where let out, etc. It is pretty quiet too, as she barks not to people or other dogs. However, when the doorbell rang, she still barks. Even if we are all standing outside with the door open and someone rings the bell, she barks. I admit that this could be something attention, because we all laugh when it happens, but it is not so cute when she barks at a person brought to our door. What I want to know is if a large number of dogs that bark like rattlesnakes, and how I can train myself to stop this habit.

You may not stop the train together, but try to teach him to does give a first warning bark. Teach him to "choke" at any moment, she barks, give him a reward when she. Try of reach of "Hush" whenever it barks, not just when the bell rang. She must learn to be quiet after a bark then she feels she still has his job. Honestly, I think a little of the bark is a good thing in a dog, just in case someone is never try to break into your house while she is there. Be sure to show him that you get to let people in greeting, but by sit near the door before you answer, and then ignore it while you do. Make sure your guests too wait some time before make eye contact with your dog and teach it to YOUR job to face the door and the bell, not hers, and she must wait to be set up and attract attention. It must learn quickly that she does not receive attention when the bell rings and it should reduce the barking. You can get a door knocker as if the bell itself is acute. A hammer may be less of a trigger, but it depends on the dog.
